SAMANVYA Theatre is a registered society pioneer in theatre production and training, established in 1985 by enthusiastic young theatre artists of Shimla-H.P. After having one-month training in the theatre workshop organized by National School of Drama(NSD) These young artists decided to adopt Theatre as a mission of their life. The first Play staged, at Kalibari Hall, Shimla was ‘Adhuri Murti’ in oct-1985 in this direction of Bhupender Sharma. After that ‘Paperweight’ “Hari Ghass par Ghante  Bhar”, “Ek Aur Draunacharya”, “Rang Nagri”, “Poster”, are the early hit Productions by Smanavya. In 1991 Smanavya starts working on the folk Theatre form, I,e,Karyala. The first Production of Folk Style was ‘Sainya Bhaye Kotwal’.This ribtickling comedy has record 50 shows all over. In 1992 Smanavya make debut in National scenario of Theatre with a production of “BAA MULAHIZA HOSHIAR” in the zonal Theatre festival organized by Sangeet  Natak  Akedemy, New Delhi at  Hissar (Haryana). Bhupender Sharma the founder member of Samanvya,and main theatre director has won many awards for theatre direction and acting and brought laurels to the HP state. Samanvya performed in almost each and every state and national Theatre festivals organized in the region. Many of the Artists of Samanvya are now at Bombay, Who earned name and fame in their respective stream of film production. Ravi Kaushal ( Producer, Director & Actor), Anil Luthra (Film Direction) ,Rohitashva Gaur(Actor), Ratikessh Joshi(Film Direction &Production), Rahi Marwaha Acting), Anil Sharma (Film Production) Ram Pal Malik(Film Direction and Acting)  are the few names Samanvya is proud of. From 1993 onwards group has served as main source of artists to Bombay film units coming to Shimla for shooting. Bhupender Sharma, Surinder Gill, Ram Pal Malik, Devesh Sharma, Anju Guleria (Famous TV Anchor today) Sanjay Sood, Rakesh Sharma, Sanjay Sood, Parmesh Sharma, are the theatre artists from Samanvya who have their film and TV debut in Shimla. Presently more than 100 performing artists are associated with Samanvya. The group is continuously organizing workshops, arranging shows, running hobby classes in music and theatre
